On the occasion of the 1st anniversary of WEM Centre, the whole Rays of Hope Family came together to celebrate. One year ago, on 11th July 2015, the Centre was blessed and dedicated and has been, since September 2015, the home for 22 beneficiaries.
At the beginning of the celebration Peter Adu, Pre-School Classes Teacher/Maintenance Officer of FCP, welcomed everyone and introduced the guests from the Social Welfare Department of Shai-Osudoku District, who took the time to come to our Centre. Their head, Ms Augustina Nartey was invited to chair the program.
After that the MD, Jan Mühlenbrink, rose to speak and also the Chairperson gave kind and motivating words as well as advising words to present beneficiaries
Furthermore pictures were shown by our Administrator/Fundraiser, Richmond Agamloh Jnr., giving a résumé about the development of WEM Centre so far. Then two of the children came forward to open the “shampagne” bottles with a loud bang.
Finally a dance competition between our children took place. Ruth, Phillip, Isaac and Sandra performed and proved their dance skills.
Traditionally, singing and worshipping was part of the whole program as well as delicious jollof rice from our cooks of both Centres, Sister Lizzy and Sister Sandra, which was served at the end of the programme.
